Herbert Gunter, 85, of Mineral Bluff, went to be with the Lord peacefully at home July 14, 2020. 

He was a member of Toccoa Baptist Church in Blue Ridge. He was saved at Milford Baptist Church in Marietta, Georgia, in his youth. He loved singing in the choir at his home church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He owned his own electrical business for over 30 years and worked hard and made many sacrifices for his family. He will be remembered and missed greatly by all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Jo Ann Gunter of Mineral Bluff; a brother, Harrison Gunter of Temple; sons and spouses Doug Gunter; James (Wanda) Gunter; Jason (Alleath) Gunter; and one daughter, Crystal (Wayne) Williams, all of Fruithurst, Alabama; grandchildren and spouses, Douglas (Lisa) Gunter; Erika (Matt) Turner, Danielle (Josh) Lumpkin, Magan (Kevin) Hightower, Jessica (Jeremy) Capps, Bethany Gunter (Klay Saxon), Brandon (Jennifer) Murphy, Kaleb (Hailey) Murphy, Ashley (Daniel) Mott, Alyson (Michael) Barber and Mady Williams; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Gunter was preceded in death by his parents Waymon Luther Gunter and Maggie Bess James Gunter; and his siblings Lucille Baker, H.B. Gunter, Glenn Gunter, Glynnis (Jill) Nicholson, Bill Gunter, Pat Adams, Grace Barnes, Frankie Gunter, Waymon Gunter, Hubert Gunter and Bobby Gunter.

Funeral services were held Saturday, July 18, at 2 p.m. at Clark Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Johnny Grant and the Rev. Joe Dan Wilkins officiating. Interment followed in Paulding Memorial Gardens. 

Clark Funeral Home in Hiram, Georgia, was in charge of the arrangements.
